Yahoo music columnist ranks his(and ours?) top 20 albums of all time:

Oh boy!!! I usually dont take stock in anything this guy says, and this is proof as to why I dont. Of course, this is HIS opinion, but Im curious to see if others feel as he does? He left off a few I'd have put on the list, but thats just me. How AC/DC's "Back In Black" & a few others didnt make the list, is beyond me? but again, this is HIS list, and HIS opinion. I also wouldn't put Stevie Wonder as my #1, no disrespect to Stevie, but not my #1. Plus, his numbers of albums sold, are a bit off, WAY off. ( I could swear MJ sold like 50+ million of Thriller?).

Actually, according to the article that appears before the list of albums, this isn't his opinion, but the result of a mathmatical formula he came up with for calculating the Top 20 albums. Also, he mentions that his list is based solely on the American market, and does not include the European market, or any other market for that matter, because he felt it would complicate his results. So, if he's only including the American market, that would explain why his numbers look way off.

Having said that, after reviewing this guy's "method" and considering this is supposed to be representative of the American market only, the list is probably pretty accurate. I will admit though, I did think it was odd that Stevie Wonder was # 1. I don't know why. I guess I just didn't think he was that widely appreciated.

It's alright, the number #1 album is amazing though.

It's okay but I don't like formulas that take sales into standing though. It's like saying the Jonas brothers are good because almost every girl in my high school likes them.

Utter drivel. These are just the most popular albums, not the best. If The Eagles are ever in a REAL top albums list, I may have to beat the critic's face in.

But hatred aside, I could have sworn DSOTM sold more than that. Wasn't it just barely beaten by Thriller in terms of popularity?

I lost respect for the list when I noticed that Sgt. Pepper was nowhere to be found on there. And Led Zeppelin IV should be above Physical Graffiti, although Physical Graffiti in it's own right is an awesome album. But I believe Zoso was more groundbreaking.
