wow thats screwed cuz I just remembered that I bought the food album off some kid down the block for a buck cuz I thought it was funny. It was a cassette also. I didn't even listen to music at that age. I asked my stepdad for a loonie to buy it.

The first album I ever bought with my own money was "Document" by REM back in 1987. I guess that probably makes me older than everyone in this thread.

The first album I bought was RHCP - Mother's Milk... at least that's the first one I want to acknowledge.

First CD I ever bought was one of those Now compiliations when I was like 12, after that I got Americana by Offspring, and then I got Are You Experienced? by Hendrix. Which really opened up my mind musically.

Then I kinda went nuts for a while, didn't listen to any rock music because I was surrounded by Christians who told me it was Satanic.

When I started listening to music again I got Make Yourself by Incubus, and after that point I started buying CDs regularly, which I never did before.

I'm honestly not sure. As Good As Dead by Local H maybe? It definitely wasn't my first album, but it might be the first one I actually bought.

The first one I can think of that I bought with my own money was Def Leppard - High 'N' Dry.

According to your profile, yep. If it makes you feel better it's not by much. And I'm happy to not be the only person on here born in the 70s! :afro:

I really thought this thread would have something to do with The Kinks :X
