I used to think that way, but I've come to realize that I'd rather listen to six billion self-righteous pricks that care than a single idiot that thinks the appropriate course of action is to do nothing.

Apathy is a far more terrible emotion than outright hatred.

i can see what you mean, it's hard tell what the truth really is though. At the same time though, if i was in a position of fame, i'd probably be yelling out "Don't Vote For Obama!" or something along those lines haha

I'm not apathetic to causes

I'm apathetic to rock stars bleating on about them.

Yeah, Id probably be as counter-productive as possible, getting people to not vote, and then chastizing them afterwards for listening to me.

And this is why I should never be let into a position of influence.

I still don't agree with that statement. Anything that gets kids to care about the world seems worthwhile to me. On Monday night my school hosted (basically) a Rock the Vote concert featuring what's left of the Allman Brothers Band and the Grateful Dead. I didn't go, but I can respect it when those guys are simply just trying to get the rest of the world to care.

But I can understand your position. It's just, sometimes "preaching" comes off well (e.g. Animals) and other times terribly (e.g. The Final Cut). I imagine you're more accustomed to hearing terrible preachers.

oh i think you misunderstood me haha, I really don't want people to vote for obama... or mccain for that matter

you're idea is funny though

I like that rock stars donate to more needy people, but when they go on and act like they are saints because they are helping other people...damit they should be doing something for someone anyways, they are being PAID to play music!!!

Yeah I wouldn't want people to vote for either of them as well. I'm either writing in Ron Paul, or my sister.

Here's to hoping your sister isn't Sarah Palin.
