It's not going to be put in genre anytime soon.

Maybe you will when you start forgetting what's in your collection though.

How will 'genre' help more than A-Z by artist or album etc?

Some people organise their collections into genres and then hit them with notions such as :'I want to listen to some Post Rock tonight. What have I got?...and don't look at urbans RYM list. It makes me green with envy :banghead:

Only makes me envious of the fact that he has listed his, whereas I'm doing it sooooooo slowly :banghead:

Jackhammer mentioned one way it's helpful. Another one is simply that it's easier to scan a small alphabetized group of records than a huge alphabetized group of records so breaking it up into genres can help if you have an absolutely enormous record collection.

Joel and Benji Madden:

Please for the love of god: drink a tall glass of bleach, buy a gun, buy a big knife, and off yourselves already?

2 of the most useless people in music/society.

I hate you both and wish death upon you.

This is something I would have done about 7-8 years ago :o:

Now the idea of re-digitizing my CDs at a 320kbs rate has entered my mind and I don't have the time nor the energy to even try.

It would take something pretty special to be more of a nutjob than wacko himself yet some of his fans manage it with ease.

Spare me the boring debate about innocence or guilt and just answer a question. Would YOU let YOUR child sleep in his bed with him unsupervised.

And if the answer is no what are you afraid of ?

34 : People Who Expect You To Listen To A Bands Entire Discography To 'Get Them' Before You Dare Criticise Them

Obviously the worst people in the entire world for doing this are Tool fans , as if sitting though one album of chugging riffs & mumbling vocals isn't bad enough they expect you to do it to all of them before you dare say a word against them. And even if you do that and don't like them it's because you 'don't get' the concepts.
Well did listen to a couple , I did get the concepts , I just didn't find them or the music particularly interesting or engaging . I mean it's there in black & white what's not to get about it , we're hardly talking about something on the level of a James Joyce novel here.

Radiohead fans are pretty bad for this too but at least most of them are willing to admit Pablo Honey is shit.
