US 2008 Election Playlist
Some suggestions:
"Won't Get Fooled Again"- The Who. Of course. Obvious, but painfully relevant. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss... "Shot By Both Sides"- Magazine. I'm pretty sure nobody is truly gung-ho about either major party candidate. "Lipstick"- Buzzcocks. For all the wrong reasons...(here's praying that, in the future, this song won't always conjure up images of Sarah Palin. ::Shudder::) "Masters Of War"- Bob Dylan. "A world war can be won/You want me to believe." "I Wanna Be Adored"- The Stone Roses. "I don't have to sell my soul; he's already in me" "Shipbuilding"- Elvis Costello. "It's all we're skilled in"...thanks to outsourcing, etc. that's actually pretty accurate these days. "Blues From A Gun"- The Jesus & Mary Chain. For anyone who's feeling more paranoid as the election date nears. "Too young kid, you're gonna get hit/Looks like you're never gonna make it off the government list." "Crucifixion"- Phil Ochs. A completely different meaning in this context, but still valid. "The eyes of the rebel have been blinded by the blind" indeed! |
Interesting.
I'd go with one of the "heavy" versions of Masters of War myself. Something along the lines of what he played at the Grammys some years back. |
