HAhahahahahaha the only song released after 1980 is Bon Jovi, bwahahahaha Its opinions like these that are destroying music. Was this lifted from a mainstream classic rock radio station?[/QUOTE] Okay...I couldn't agree more with everything this guy had to say. This playlist reads like the Time Life "Best of Classic Rock" compilation -- that is to say, overplayed and boring as ****. Why not throw on a little Skynyrd or Doors while you're at it? This list wouldn't be complete without Sweet Home Alabama or Come On Baby Light My Fire. Right? Right. |

And what I mean is, that if all you listen to after 1979 is Bon Jovi, and you tote around that sort of opinion seriously, than you are part of the reason people like Eric Clapton, who have done nothing bust dust off old blues licks and ruin Bob Marley songs way too much credit, and overshadowing bands who deserve it. I guess not ruining music....but just being another body claiming to be into music, and then I come to find out hes just another boring Clapton fan. Basically, there was a rock critic who once said, "Nostalgia is the most insidious corruptor of great rock n' roll", and this is sort of an example of that. So, no, the Beatles aren't destroying music, but I despise Clapton and for me, hes been ruining music for 40+ years. |
