Another story I'm fond of is Tweeter & The Monkey Man, by the Traveling Wilburys. It's very strange, but once you accept its bizarre logic, you'll want to loop it again and again...

You could probably put some of The Decemberists on there. They have some pretty epic stories with their music, most of the time. Mariner's Revenge Song is my favorite of theirs as far as stories goes.
