Mayhems history is about as intersting as its music. There's better black metal out there, but just based on pure influence Mayhem are definitely one of the bigger bands.

Bauhaus  Right Track got me into this band a couple years back, I enjoyed it then and I think I appreciate it alot more now, even though ive gotten into alot of different post punk bands. My favorite album is The Skys gone out. They covered David Bowies Ziggy Stardust, I ind it to be a pretty flawless take on it. peter murphy is a creep though. good albums... The skys gone out.
