Well, if you can hear a slight hint of the influences then it doesn't sound "like nothing the came before" now does it?

Don't be such a ****ing pedant, you know what i mean. Theres always going to be a slight tinge of something else in a bands sound because there ahs been so many years of music. A band an still have a unique sound, evenb if that sound has been borrowed from other bands, its the combination of different influences that can make them unique.

No, I don't know what you mean actually. Maybe all that sweet talk of yours is getting in the way. Do you want bands that sound like nothing else before them or not?

Thank you for reiterating my own point to me.

Ah, such sweet talk. That's how you keep the conversation friendly: namecalling. Anyway, again, having a distinct sound is not the same as sounding like nothing that came before.

Interesting comment from someone who labels anyone who disagrees with him as "boring old bastards".

That's what makes a thread interesting, or makes people want to post, a first post sets the scene for a thread and your first post is one of the worst there can be.

Bands still in existence today that nobody sounds like? King Crimson, the Ozric Tentacles and The Residents all come to mind immediately, but there are so many others...
