Johnny Truant - No Tears For Creatures
I wanted some hard rockin' metalcore, and all I got was a repeat of ITLOHE minus all the hooks and awesomeness. |

I absolutely loved this! If you think Takk was good try listening to () as a whole. :o *mind-blowing* |

Definitely the new Killers album. I had hope for that band... but not anymore.

It started great. I thought they were onto something when I heard Gobbledi****, but they're trying to conform. They're not satisfied with their fans, so they tried to become more accessible, and holy **** did they miss the mark. All Alright, their first English song is mumbled, so if someone hadn't told me that Jonsi sung in English, I would have never known. What a **** load of ****. Takk... is fantastic. Probably their best album. Oh, and Fleet Foxes are also a croc load. |
The Cure's 4:13 dream is my biggest letdown, poor mixing/production tarnished what (imo) could've been a very good album.

OH, I knew I forgot something: Travis - Ode to J.Smith - Contrary to most people, I liked all of their albums up to now. I'm not sure what they were trying to do with this one, maybe disprove anyone who thinks they've gone into a safe period of their career and keep churning out the same, safe, mellow rock. As with most other let downs, I listened to it maybe once or twice and promptly forgot it got released. But because I love them so much, I'm gonna try to give it another shot...:( I'm from Barcelona - Who Killed Harry Houdini? - Ok well, I guess it was clear from the start this was a one hit type of thing, but I did listen to Let me introduce my friends quite a bit a few years back, even if it was mostly based on the lead single, which still ranks as the happiest song ever recorded. I deleted Houdini without having finished listening to it...it felt repetitive and kinda annoying. Did anybody hear it? Mates of State - Re-Arrange Us - they lost pretty much all of their appeal by getting rid of the organs and glossing up their production. I don't think anyone liked this...I only remembered it by going through a list of albums published this year, that's how much of an impact it made. DeVotchKa - A Mad & Faithful Telling - How it ends is a beautiful little album, mostly remembered as the music that made Little miss sunshine the monster hit it was. Unfortunately it seemed to me that the music and vocals are so specific that they can't retain the appeal for more than one album. Another album I remembered by going through a list of 2008 albums. |

it ruined an other wise enjoyable album |
CSS - Donkey
appropriately titled in my opinion. |
Ah, forgot about that one too. Agreed.
Also, The faint - Fasciination Not sure what happened here, I think the rest of the music world just moved on in the 4 years since Wet from birth, while they continued doing pretty much the same thing, the retro-80's electro, which bands like Does it offend you, yeah? have taken to a whole different level. Too bad, although it was fun while it lasted. |
