Of course they are. That's the appeal of Christmas music.

I just don't like them. Especially when my boss plays the same tape over and over and over again at work and makes us wear Christmas hats. And the tunes repetitively jingle over and over in your head until you're brainwashed into dreaming of white christmas's. I think I was scarred.

I've worked retail through two Christmas seasons. I'm well aware of your grievances.

Hear hear! A prohibitive tax should be levied on all performers who record Christmas albums, all people who purchase those albums, and all of the radio stations and department stores that play those albums.

That said, I appreciate the sentiments of Fear's "Fuck Chrismas."

Wow you got a baby to smile, and had farm animals as the rhythm section,

Death to the Little Drummer Boy.

but I love the version by Destiny's Child

That can only be a good thing.

"I'm dreaming of a White Christmas"

Yeah, most Christmas songs are painful but what about the great jazz ones? Like Coltrane's Greensleeves, Oscar Peterson's "A Child is Born", or Kenny Burrell's "Merry Christmas, Baby"

I'm somewhat embarrassed to say it, butI have a soft spot for some Christmas music. I love

Songs for Christmas
A Charlie Brown Christmas
A Christmas Gift For You From Philles Records
Christmas Eve and Other Stories
The Bells of Dublin
What a Wonderful Christmas

and a few others.

Oh, and Fairytale of New York by The Pogues is the best Christmas song ever.
