Ahhh! Mixtaper's block!

Hey, first post so feel free to yell gtfonoobs

I'm just searching for help with a valentine's mixtape (early i realize, want it to be good) that I want to make for my GF, lame I know, but I might have let on that I was thinking of making one for her and she got excited so now it has to be good, etc. etc.

anyways, she struggles with self-confidence so i've kept that a common theme so far, i'm a little stumped now and looking for suggestions, any genre of music so long as it somewhat fits with the list so far. She loves franz ferdinand, kings of leon, tv on the radio, beck, the vines, the clash, anything scottish too. I hope to go for something like 15 songs.

List so far:

1. The Warmth - Incubus
2. Drive - Incubus
3. Here In My Room - Incubus
(I was reliving my old obsession when I thought of making a mixtape)
4. Sore - Wintersleep
5. I Think I'm In Love - Beck
6. An Audience With The Pope - Elbow

Correct me if im wrong but isn't the point of a gift that it be from YOU to HER. Not US to her?

I want to help you, but do all the songs have to be about struggling with self confidence? I know some songs that sound great but don't have the lyrics that fall into that motif.

Another option is showing you what mixtapes I've made for past gfs, and you picking which songs you might want from them. I can send you the playlists through sendspace.

I'm just looking for suggestions, of course I wouldn't just copy paste everything suggested to her, also, I plan on combing my library for perfect songs but some songs that I don't know of might say it better.

Don't worry I'm trying to make this as personal as possible

Well in that case, just pick a few bands she likes and go to a lyrics website. Whatever fits her fancy will do.

I would, but she plays her favorites to death and then the mixtape would be a collection of songs she knows too well and might be bored of, plus I want her to get into some fresh stuff, she's timid amongst the sea of excellent new music out there.

"Dead Skin Mask" by Slayer is the cornerstone of any Valentine's Day mix.

Maybe you should just get her flowers.
