Question Newbie looking for advice on social network for bands

I hope I'm posting in the right place.

I despise myspace, so I am looking for a social site for musicians/bands. I am looking for one that streams the music to listeners, has minimal features concerning messaging and blogging, and is entirely music orient. Muxtape is the exact design I hope for, but it is not open to the public yet.

I REALLY want a place I can just share my music with as I am creating it in the livingroom studio in hopes of critique and laughs.

Anyone know of a place? This place is the only populated music site I have found thus far. And it's a very cool joint, might I add.

Tony

As much as it sucks, myspace still really is the best place for a wider audiance. I havn't found a place that can even compete with it. You can try facebook but still has the same issues as myspace.

Well, I think you're in the right place!
Also, as everyone else is saying, Myspace and Facebook really are the greatest sites right now,

^This.

Except Last.fm does have a lot of options for interaction with other users, but it's definitely not the central focus of the site.

myspace and youtube are the obvious choices, but yea I agree they are too broad.
A new site that came out has a growing and active community you should check it out
plugmysongs.com
this is the site in my sig and it's based mainly on the music with minimal social networking. I think this is what you might be looking for.
