pure genius - powerpop disguised as "hair metal" these guys are closer to The Only Ones and The Raspberries than Poison or Motley Crue |

acc. to Mojo mag. it was the best album released since that mags inception. I wouldn't got that far but it's a lot better than I first thought. Kinda space-jazz in parts, if such a thing exists. |
Alpinist - Rogen This whole album is amazing |
Listening to tracks off this album. This stuff is just morbid! |
It's electronic. It's experimental. It's from 1956. |

Beautiful. |
This vid is a bit NSFW with p*ssy that keeps popping up |
An interesting combo of black metal and dark ambient music. I love it. |
I've been listening to this album non stop since it leaked back at the beginning of May. This song in particular is probably my favorite, it has the same build up that 2009's Ki, except on this one he actually gives into his dark side and lets himself lose control. |
The Boredoms - (Circle) |
This song is just indescribably beautiful to me. And Don't The Kids Just Love It is one of those albums that really gets under my skin. |

I've been listening to some songs by The Outfield, who are one of my "significant other" groups, meaning they are a band that became a blip on my radar screen because a former significant other liked their music. I always thought this group was from California. But nope, they are an "arena rock-influenced British pop rock/power pop power trio."
Although their songs are simplistic, gushy, and repetitive, I still like the following two partly for nostalgia's sake and partly because I like waiting for little moments I enjoy in them. Their vocal harmonies and clear voices remind me of the Electric Light Orchestra: The Outfield - "The Night Ain't Over" (My favorite part is when they sing about sweat :) : "It's five in the morning and I can feel the beads of sweat running down the back of my neck; it's so good to be with you again.") The Outfield - "Say it isn't so" (I think it is the solid drumming that attracts me to this song. I also like the quieter part where they sing, "It's lonely on the streets when it's just 1 AM, mmm, seen a lot of pretty girls passing by. I'm walking in the midnight sun once again.") |

That Anthony Fantano guy said this album was sick so I decided to check it out, I think it's pretty sick. |

Working my way through Fleet Foxes, on Winter Hymnal at the moment. This album is really reaffirming why I generally stay away from anything labeled "indie-folk".
|
Goin' on a Beatles listening spree. |

A female version of Lil' B, she reps him and I guess they are cool and know each other or w/e. I don't know why but for some reason I have been listening to her material more. I guess I'm fascinated by the whole White Girl Mob thing she has going. |

All of them together make up White Girl Mob. I'm feeling emo like my voice isn't being heard so I'm listening to this. |
Sheep,Dog&Wolf
No youtube links but definitely check this out... I guess it's kinda folky music? Really good. |

Wretch 32 ft. Josh Kumra
Just watching and listening to a few of the clips from Glastonbury this year.
The one I've been listening to on Youtube is - "Glastonbury 2011 - Wretch 32 feat Josh Kumra - "Don't Go" live acoustic version". It was the first time I'd heard Josh Kumra on this clip on tv, I love his voice. I'll be looking out for his album. Can't add the clip as I've not done enough posts yet. Its worth a listen though. |
