Kings of Metal would have to be their penultimate record, and probably their most consistent. Into Glory Ride is another top contender, but it's got a slower, heavier pace than their other albums, and isn't the most accessible choice for newer listeners, but it's become one of my favs. For their modern albums, the only one that isn't hopelessly-flawed-but-with-a-few-godlike-songs is Warriors of the World.

I think you mean Gods of War, no?

I heard nothing wrong and i luv how cheesy they are, that's what attracted me to them.
i like how he talks about warriors and metal, it's cheesy but empowering and i like how the guitar echoes that sentiment.

I liked the songs from Glory ride but 'swords in the wind' blew my mind so i think im gonna start with warriors of the world and go from there.

Good stuff Batty, thnx for the recommendations. :thumb:

Hell no. They went too far with the cheesy, overblown epicness. That album is full of mostly mediocre songs spaced out between ridiculously long and boring interludes.

Manowar are always good for some cheesy, yet uplifting ballads.

I feel like Bon Iver get a lot of hate for being "white girl music," but I rather like them. They're not mind blowing or super artsy or the most incredible indie folk out there or anything, but they're enjoyable, and make a good listen for a late, quiet, cold night.

I think you need to reassess your definition of penultimate.

I may very well have been searching for another word, but it sounded close enough, and that was good enough for me. I'm a grammar Nazi. Definitions are not my area of expertise.

Nothing like some good, classy, mellow rock. And I must say, that's some mighty fine modding on your part, Goof.
