Want to listen loud, hateful music, but I'm bored of metal for the moment. So I'm checkin' out some noise rock. These dudes are pretty alright in a Flipper kind of way.

You did say "Noise Rock", and I'd consider some of that being the same. Yes, funk too, since Bootsy's all over it.

American Pie, Don McLean.

Not only is it brilliant, but it has sentimental value to me, too.

It gets me every single time.

Glad you dug it. Totem by White Suns is my aoty. As for fu****susha, that's their only album that sounds like that, the rest of their stuff is either noise/noise rock, your more general avant garde, or demented blues rock in the vein of Les Rallizes Denudes. You should check out frontman and guitarist (and only consistent member of fu****susha) Keiji Haino's solo work if you dig that album though.

Cool will do, also I'm going to be listening to all of that White Suns album I'm actually exited to get my face kicked in by music, which is kind of weird. Yeah I'll be checking out a bunch by fu****susha as well.

White Suns - Totem
Ahg I'm loving it, yet it seems to really hate me!

I like the way the singer belts out the chorus.

I've been listening to this song for 30+ years and the slide guitar never fails to move me. Can listen to this a million times and never get tired of it.

What a great interpretation of the song, definitely the jazz album of the year. Zorn can take a seat.

I first heard of Godspeed You ! Black Emperor in the days of Pedestrian´s album club but it´s taken me until recently to follow up on her recommendation.
Just been listening to Dead Flag Blues and Providence. It´s the perfect music to hear while you are working: subtle, sinister and subversive:-

My humble verdict on some recent clips: I´ve put them in a spoiler because they all seem to be negative and I wouldn´t like my personal opinion to detract someone else´s enjoyment.

Spoiler for nothing but picky criticisms:
Next time I´m suffering from caffeine-induced jitters I might come back and play Frownland´s again.
Sorry, Neff Anselmo , but I´ve never liked that kind of noisy, angry music (with the exception of Beefheart, of course).
Chula´s was also a bit rowdy for my delicate tastes, but I liked how it seemed to slide from one tempo/style to another.
Glad you enjoy the slide guitar, ribbons, but for me it wasn´t strong enough to dispell the sense of ennui that Harrison´s lyrics induces.
Yours was fun Briks, though I liked the clear, interesting lyrics of the verses more than the chorus that you mentioned.

Found this guy on Spotify radio. It's ambient, noise, almost sounds like the film score to a really depressing, yet oddly uplifting, sci fi movie. It feels like a kiss in the middle of a planet being rent asunder.

When I first listened to this I thought to myself "This is the weirdest thing I've heard in my life". That feeling hasn't changed.

When you type Ascension into Spotify, this is the sixteenth album that comes up. This is an outrage.
