Tried these guys out for the first time. I'm a bit torn about what to think of them. Appreciate the lightness of the song and the smooth melody, but it gets... kinda weary? Not sure.

I agree. "In the Flesh" is one of my favorite songs by her, too: http://www.musicbanter.com/pop/5128-...ml#post1159263

"Definitely Maybe" is very relaxing background music for pizza-chewing and leisurely conversing, Liz.

I can imagine the dimly lit restaurant, the tangy scent of hot pizza, the red and white checked table cloths...and the paper covers of straws being scrunched up and then blown at the person across from you, preferably targeting the nose! (I've found that dining out with an elementary school kid generally distracts from a romantic, relaxing setting...especially since I'm the instigator of blowing the covers off the straws! )

Erica, you would have livened things up for us with your straw cover blowing skills! My young "date" and I were grabbing for the slices with the biggest pizza "bubbles" -- the puffy, raised parts of the crust -- we love those!

Lyrical slide guitar playing in a song always catches my ear and moves me. That's what I liked when I heard "Definitely Maybe" in the restaurant.

Default "Eternal Flame" by the Bangles

Susanna Hoffs seems to have trouble hitting that high note in "Eternal Flame." It's a tremendous song, I think, when she hits it, but she usually shies away from it in the videos I've seen online. Anyone know the behind-the-scenes story about this? Here is a video where she hits the note:
