In my car CD player:

Endless Rooms, the latest album from Australian band Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever (frequently shortened to Rolling Blackouts C.F.). I actually found out about them on one of Music Choice's channels, which I don't listen to/watch much because for every good song on the indie or alternative channels, there are 10 lame ones.

At home:

The Paranoid Style's album A Goddamn Impossible Way Of Life. This fine DC area band (which is comprised of vocalist and songwriter Elizabeth Nelson and her husband, ex-Mendoza Line guitarist Tim Bracy, with rotating supporting musicians) is rocking, but with lyrics that are intelligent yet funny.

One of my favorite minimal ambient compilations is John Foxx and Harold Budd's Nighthawks, Translucence and Drift Music box set from 2017, and this week I've been revisiting another serene multi-disc set by John Foxx - Cathedral Oceans I + II as well as the later Cathedral Oceans III effort which was issued separately.

I know Foxx released The Arcades Project on 31 March 2023 but I haven't gotten around to that one just yet. I hope it will be just as sparse and ethereal as the others.

Pictured is my copy of the Budd+Foxx collaboration limited vinyl edition from Demon Records, autographed.
