Can someone point to an artist similar to what Yoav does (yeah, I know it IS pretty unique)

Btw in what Category does Yoav's music fall into on this forum (pop??) ?

Probably fits in the Indie area.

As far as other artists, you might luck out just going on Myspace and searching through the indie/alternative/pop stuff.
