Yeah...I don't know why it seems I am the only person who loves this album. I guess most people can't get over the fact that they made the conversion to total dreampop. Their debut was total shoegaze, Citrus threw in the dreampop, and Hush is all dreampop.
It is a bit disappointing that no one really likes the album, as I found it to be brilliant. But hey, different strokes for different folks. I'm glad you were at least inspired to check out Citrus. |
I'm glad it grew on you man.
I actually should have told you it took me a few listens to get into myself. I had pretty much the same initial reaction the first time I listened to it so I'm glad you gave it another chance on your own. Almost forgot, I'm in for the next one. |

But I've neglected giving Hush a listen, despite Citrus being one of my favorite shoegaze albums discovered last year. I'll have to get it soon. |

And please listen to Hush. And please like it. I just don't know if I can handle someone else hating on it. I can't be the only one who loves this album. |

If I'm not too busy later, I'll get my review up today. |
A quick burmp to remind people I'm gonna look to start the next trade either this evening (GMT) or tomorrow, or at least as soon as I get my review done. Either way, the theme will be one of melancholy (through either the lyrics or just the feel of the music) - miserable, moody, contemplative, whatever you wanna call it.
Here's who's in for it thus far... Abdullah424 Bulldog CanwllCorfe DieselBoy Duga GotJuice NumberNineDream Rickenbacker Anyone else up for it? Come one now, you know you want to... |
Queue me up lad, I'm up for another go-around.

Bulldog sent me:
I've been hearing this album for the past 2 weeks, and still don't know what to write about it. I loved it from the first spin, so that's a good thing, and I'd love to get other Talk Talk albums, another good thing. So to talk about the album now, I really liked it, even though it has a lot of the cliché 80s pop characteristics. Surprisingly, neither the constant beat, nor the synthesized reverbs annoyed me, as I found them very well fitting. I loved the vocals, it felt like a more sentimental version of Roy Orbison, which adds to the heart-melting factor. So all in all, great album, and I finally got introduced to Talk Talk, thank you Bulldog :thumb: |
^ Terrific album that, and I'm glad you liked it. I've not heard it for a while myself, so I'll give it a go later tonight probably.
As for more Talk Talk, expect a PM fairly soon... Quote:
Anyone else feel like joining the party? I'm just listening to my album right now and, as I say, I'll get the next trade going once I've posted some feedback here which, depending how I'm feeling, could be later tonight or tomorrow. Either way, if you want in, make yourself known fairly soon! |
