well its 80 songs in just over 14 minutes....i guess this would be classified as grind core/noise

i've never really been that into grind core....i actually like my songs to be quite long and to be honest i think i would love this if it were one continuous track and all of these noises were combined in some chaotic way

i must say out of all the albums i've listened to since coming to this site....this album made me smile the most.....this whole album is in a void between brilliant and completely stupid

each track starts with the letter 'G'....which makes it some crazy sesame street episode for someone you might have seen on "to catch a predator"

each track begins with the title of the song, a count "1234) and up to 19 seconds of grinding noise...repeat ad nausum

still it's actually really good....and i think it will always stay on my player if anything for fun bombastic blast of crap in between my stupidly long epic neo classical tracks :)

nice one Howard....and easy to review to boot :)

Either of you have a link to this album? I have been listening to "Tokyo Anal Dynamite" recently, loving it.

Hey Kayleigh, I've started listening to the album you sent and I promise I will review, even if it's next month sometime. Just had alot of hectic stuff going on.

Sadly, I think I'll have to bow out of next month's trade. Boo.

Oh ****, I've forgotten this. How far did we get listening to one another's albums last time?

Frownland 05-12-2012 10:11 AM

I forgot as well.

Phantom Limb sent me The Psychic Paramount's II. It was a pretty awesome album, and started off with a fantastic heavy post-rock bang. If there's one thing about the album that I would condone as my favourite, I'd say that the drumming has to take the cake; it's just outright brilliant. Apart from that, the guitars and bass were pretty good, but, at times, they do fall into that cliched pit of post-rock-isms that haunt so many bands, but they tend to capture their own unique sound throughout the course of the album. The songs have great climaxes and the build-ups to said climaxes are not so bad either. The song N5 is the only low point on the album in my eyes, the band should have just made a longer song out of N5 Coda instead. The highs of the album are the opening song (Intro/SP)and closing song (N5 Coda), both of which are great tunes. This album does have intriguing textures in the timings, the feedback excursions, the relationship between the drums and the bass, and the raw guitar sounds.

Thanks for the album, Phantom Limb, can't wait to unveil more great textures in the future.

i thought this thread has dieded

I have a really hard time remembering it once a month. It's easier with the weekly topics, because I associate them with Saturdays or Sundays, but a month is just long enough to completely forget that this thread exists.

Is it too late for me to hop aboard this train that has slowed it would appear just enough for me to jump on without losing any limbs?

Translation: I want in, if possible guys.

If not, I'll read your entries with interest and mounting jealousy! :D

PS 300 words? Really? Did that stick? I do 300 words in an intro! :)
