I don't know if I've heard that one, but S.C.I.E.N.C.E. is very Patton/Bungle influenced. Good album though.

Look Inside The Asylum Choir, Asylum Choir.

I love this album. Psychedelic and eclectic, Look Inside The Asylum Choir is a multifaceted trip through an array of different musical styles and influences. Obviously influenced by the '60s psych movement, I was very much reminded of the later Beatles, as cliche as that sounds, but definitely in a good way.

Anyway, thanks NumberNine! Great pick.

I'm glad you liked it, that's surely one of the many hidden gems of the 60s (was mentioned by Molecules in the 60s thread, so my thanks to him :D), and it's an album that never ceases to please. Even five of my friends have requested this album after hearing few parts in my car.

It was nice trading with you :p:

Ha, I know right! Which is why I was quite pleased when I was paired up with her :D

Anyway, likewise NND... nice trading with you!

I haven't heard much of that one but I've heard it's quite similar in that sense to Fungus Among Us.

GRINDERMAN - GRINDERMAN (2007)

I like to consider myself somewhat of a Nick Cave fan but i've yet to really delve into the mans back catalogue bar a Greatest Hits compilation and I think two or three studio albums so I was more than willing to recieve this.

Grinderman was a Bad Seeds side project that spawned just the one album and by the sounds of it was aimed at taking a very different musical route than a lot of previous material. It sounds like a very well worked mix between some dirty blues and hard garage rock.

The album surprised me in a way. I suppose i didnt really know what to expect but No Pussy Blues is outright sleaze and tracks like Honey Bee (Lets Fly to Mars) and Love Bomb among others are powerful, loud and sometimes chaotic garage rock with no downtempo moments or a ballad in sight.

Theres nothing too complex about the record, its fairly straightforward aggressive rock music but has the potential to become an album i start to dig out at parties or play through some quality earphones when i need something to wake me up or put me in a more positive mood. The only downside as far as I can tell is that the album is relatively short, i just played it twice back to back.

^ Top, top album that. They've got a followup due out early next year from what I've heard too which, it goes without saying, I can't bloody wait for.

I'll leave it 'til a few more reviews pop up here before kicking off the next trade. Also, to be honest, I've barely thought about a theme for it, so I'm open to suggestions from you guys as to what that should end up being.

Yeah I really liked it. I might go back to the Nick Cave stuff i have and look to get a few more.

Just wanted to put my name for the next trade.

Lovely avatar.

I'm in again. I didn't get my last album.

I'd also like to put my name in. School's nearly over, so I've got some more time on my hands.
