Most Dramatic Songs

What do you people think are the most dramatic songs?

Janszoon 04-07-2009 10:19 PM

"Cold Cold Water" by Mirah is pretty dramatic.

khfreek 04-07-2009 10:34 PM

"LET HIM GO!"
"BISMALLAH, WE WILL NOT LET HIM G-"
"LET HIM GO!!!"

Whatsitoosit 04-08-2009 11:39 AM

"Without You" (written by Pete Ham and Tom Evans) is pretty damn dramatic/borderline pathetic.

barbarella 04-08-2009 02:42 PM

I Know It's A Bit Obvious But "No More Drama" By Mary J. Blige Is Just SO Dramatic Lyrically.

Bulldog 04-08-2009 04:12 PM

Cry with my tears
Cry with my pain
Still in the cold
Neverending rain

With one of your kisses
My words you would freeze
From one of your kisses
My bleeding would cease

Shed all my tears
The flood devours all
The earth, us, rushing...
A shy, whispered call

Death becomes angels
And they won't turn away
Defying all my yearning
And my body of clay

Cry with my crying
You end up like a mole
Death loves all angels
Retired into my soul

As I'm drained and welkin
My last wish I sigh
Let me be, darling
Tears in your eye.

Agathodaimon - Body Of Clay

Without You by Harry Nilsson.

Also, I Know It's Over by The Smiths is pretty dramatic.

The music videos make it doubly as dramatic (and sexy). What a fantastic artist she is.

I third/second these two. And I don't know how no-one has mentioned Magma as they're pretty much the definition of dramatic! Evidence attached ;)

Philip Glass - Koyaanisqatsi is my favorite for such situations. This song is probably more evil than dramatic thou.

This one always gives me chills for some reason. And I hated that book with a passion.

To answer the question, Arcade Fire. Notably this one:

Anything by Van der Graaf Generator, and I do mean anything.

Liljagare 06-05-2011 08:27 AM

A dramatic film deserves a dramatic song.

Lisa Gerrads "Now we are free". Just pure magic.

Enya's "May it be". Perfect.

edited for this addition.

Part 1(albeit this is way to quietly recorded):

Part 2:

The Prophet's Song by Queen, absolutely.

Raust 06-07-2011 07:07 PM

One that comes to mind is The Musical Box by Genesis. They were infamous for there long drawn out songs in early Genesis and put on quiet a live show. This to me is one of there more dramatic songs.

Bacharach songs often, quite a few Italian songs, some Korean, Vietnamese music can be quite dramatic, operatic music can be.

Howard the Duck 06-08-2011 01:46 AM

probably the most dramatic account of rape in a song

___ 06-08-2011 02:06 AM

The Virgin 06-08-2011 04:56 AM

all songs by Mary J Blidge are always full of drama.
"No More Drama" is one great example
