Morphine - Lilah.
I just got five albums from the band Morphine. My sister says their really good, but I haven't cracked into them yet. I think I'm going to start with Good (1992).
So, anyway, anyone who likes this band or owns a few of their albums, care to elaborate on how great they are? What aspects of them should I look out for? Anyone particularly enthusiastic about this band or a certain album? Discuss. Oh, also, I'm missing the song Lilah from the album Like Swimming (1997), so if anyone would like to send that my way I'd be eternally grateful. An incomplete album isn't an album at all. |

Also worth checking out is the band Twinemen which is the band the remaining members of Morphine started after Mark Sandman's death. I'll PM you about "Lilah". |
I've only heard Cure For Pain, it's a fantastic album though. Really cool sound, I love listening to it before I go out.

Thanks Janszoon, I really needed that track! Also, I think it's incredibly amazing that you are friends with the sax player from Morphine, seriously! Definitely going to check out Twinemen, I'll for sure get around to it. I think, as far as the albums go, I'll do what I usually do and go in order by what year the albums came out. That usually gives me an idea of how the band evolved. I can't wait to crack into them.

Anyway, yeah, the Twinemen stuff is good. It basically sounds like Morphine but with a female singer. Mark Sandman's cool slide bass style is missed too, but the guy that plays bass with them is pretty good in his own right. |
I've been meaning to check out this band ever since I heard the Night from your comp. Janszoon.

Just got a couple of albums yesterday and listening to Cure For Pain right now. I love the Sax work it's simple yet effective and gives the songs a different shape. I like it's laid back nature.
