Favorite Tour(s) of 2009
Which music tours are you looking forward to in 2009? This is a great week for music in Boston. We have Kings of Leon, Bruce Springsteen and Peter Bjorn and John playing in the city this week.
Boston has a few decent tours this summer. Dave Matthews Band, Aerosmith, Rise Against, Pennywise and Pepper, and a few other good tours. Does anyone really care about the Jonas Brothers and U2? |
Andrew Bird's tour for Noble Beast is quite good. He opens with a couple solo-instrumental violin bits, then brings the full band out. He's getting to the point where he has enough great music to change things up and get creative with certain songs. Other than that, I'll be seeing The Decemberists May 31st. I've heard they have a whole play-sorta thing that goes along with their concept album, but i dunno...we'll see how I feel about it after I go.

Oh, completely forgot about The Decemberists. I will definitely be putting them on my list of bands to see.

I'm going to a lot of shows this summer. Probably most excited about Metallica. They haven't announced the opening band(s) yet, though.

What an awesome thread idea! Where is Andrew Bird going to be touring?
I'm looking forwat to AMT, Mastodon's Crack the Skye tour (they're doing the entire album!!!), and he's not a musician, but Doug Stanhope. |
I'm pumped about the Mastodon tour too. Have you seen the setlists? They play the whole album then come back and do another set. They play for about 2 hours every night. I can't wait.

Mayhem Festival w/ Bullet For My Valentine, Trivium, All That Remains, Manson.
Warped Tour w/ Escape The Fate, Chiodos, Breathe Carolina, A Day To Remember. |
