Grooveshark

Anybody else use this?
I love it, just queue up the tracks in the order they appear on an album and listen away. No waiting, really good sound quality too!

I use it! and love it. What is this lala.com and last.fm ****? Grooveshark rocks.

gogojessicat 01-24-2010 06:08 PM

yeah, i use it all the time!! its great and it has everything. love it.

A former flatmate of mine used to use this all the time. Sound quality's good, as you say, and I like the way you can queue up songs for it. There's plenty that it doesn't have, so it's nothing to completely rely on for all your music, but it's great to use if you're throwing a party and you don't have your iPod handy or whatever.

jayfin3 01-25-2010 04:20 PM

Yeah, every once in awhile I come across a song that it doesn't have. But so far, since I have started on MusicBanter, using the two sites has exponentially increased what I listen to. I just make browse through this forum, adding songs and artists to huge playlists on Grooveshark that I then listen to late in the night. I love it! It's great for getting an idea of what you want to download, instead of downloading it all.

I'm not a fan of Grooveshark until they add scrobbling.

So maybe some of you have heard of this website? It's a flash based player and it has pretty much every song ever written loaded on it. Haha I don't have 15 posts so I can't link you guys, but you should check it out.

It's incredibly useful, since a lot of the songs I listen to aren't on youtube.

I have encountered plenty of songs not available on grooveshark and I'm not like a super hipster or something.

(I love using grooveshark, just saying)

they didn't have panda bear's new song. :(

Arya Stark 08-06-2010 03:08 PM

Yeah Grooveshark was really cool when I checked it out.
I never looked into it anymore after that, though, I really should.

Dayvan Cowboy 08-06-2010 03:34 PM

Grooveshark is really good for when you're at school and they blocked youtube. a good way to pass the time if you've got headphones.

Landon 08-06-2010 03:58 PM

I don't think its that great, songs are rarely tagged properly and (for me anyway) the loading screen freezes for ages.

Sljslj 08-06-2010 06:54 PM

I use it all the time, it works great and almost always has what I'm looking for.

in my opinion, Spotify is better.

dankrsta 08-07-2010 05:22 AM

I use it when I want to hear something before downloading.

I've found GS often has only SOME of the tracks of an album I want. Weird. I usually use it if I can't find what I want on Spotify, but I would definitely go for Spotify over Grooveshark.

Isbjørn 09-05-2014 02:21 PM

^ This.

Goofle 09-05-2014 03:11 PM

I never use it ever when it comes to albums or regular listening. But I like the idea of broadcasting.

Mantis 09-05-2014 09:31 PM

I use it all the time when I'm getting a feel for artists I've just discovered.

Every now and then I'll listen to an album on there for the heck of it

Key 09-05-2014 09:43 PM

I'm constantly using Grooveshark. Since I have it connected with my last.fm, I can pretty much have everything I listen to showing on my last.fm, which is a big deal when I listen to music since i'm a dork who loves that stuff.

DriveYourCarDownToTheSea 09-06-2014 05:37 PM

I love it too.

Unfortunately they recently started blocking it where I work (except during lunch). :( I've got several playlists I made just to listen to at work, now I can't use 'em anymore.

And what's really weird is, they haven't blocked Pandora. But I don't want to buy a subscription just to set up a playlist there.
