Stone Birds 06-02-2009 12:36 PM

like i said, no vids yet, but i did put the website

Stone Birds 06-02-2009 12:49 PM

i know, hey does anyone else have some vids to show?

LoathsomePete 06-02-2009 10:09 PM

I've only played one live show, it was at a frat house with my first band when I was 16. The rest of the band was about 9 years older than me and it was more of a favor to the guys at the house than anything else because we didn't get paid. It ended abruptly when somebody spat beer in my face and I subsequently smashed my guitar against his head. It turned into a brawl and I broke my Squier and Peavey amp in the process, but it was worth it watching that **** go down. Wish we had it on video, it'd be something to show my kids.

Stone Birds 06-03-2009 12:51 PM

awesome

Wish I was, I miss that amp. I use to have some anger issues, I still do however I'm much better at controlling my temper. The way I ended my original post wasn't right, I would never want to show my future children me in a fight because then I wouldn't be a good role model.

Stone Birds 06-04-2009 12:07 PM

at my show last night i couldn't perform because these people wouldn't stop trying to make a mosh pit. i kept telling them folk music isn't supposed to have mosh pits. (what's worse is this isn't a very big area so they nearly broke an amp and a couch)

The Unfan 06-04-2009 12:15 PM

I'm down with moshing to folk music. Also "folk-stomping" as a friend dubbed it. You know, that Celtic folky jig dance?

crash_override 06-04-2009 12:19 PM

You can mosh to anything really, so long as its music. I mosh to smooth jazz almost daily.

The Unfan 06-04-2009 12:22 PM

I like moshing in between songs so that I can get out my energy but still give the music the attention it deserves.

crash_override 06-04-2009 12:24 PM

Like when the PA is playing? I have actually seen people do that. Not a bad idea. You ****ing scene kids hurry up and mosh for a minute, im going to get a beer then cut it the **** out when the bands comes back on. Its a great system really.

Stone Birds 06-04-2009 12:30 PM

this is modern-american folk, kind of like iron & Wine (a little bit)
there's some downloads on my songwriting journal if you wanna hear this stuff

+81 06-05-2009 01:07 AM

You should have just performed, didn't need to go all Ian Mackaye on them.

Stone Birds 06-05-2009 11:18 AM

if you personally knew them you might've done the same anyways one of them almost broke my guitar i had to jump.

You might want to move the camera further away from the band so you don't start sounding like Wolf Eyes
(but i can tell it might be good, give us a myspace link)

+81 06-07-2009 02:08 PM

Yeah the camera was definitely too close to the speaker (not that there is anything wrong with Wolf Eyes). Thanks for the optimism but we don't have a Myspace account yet.

Stone Birds 06-07-2009 02:16 PM

everything is wrong with Wolf Eyes! (worse band ever signed by subpop records or any label to be exact)

Stone Birds 06-07-2009 09:06 PM

i did horrible tonight for some reason the guitar wasn't sounded right, i was off-pitch just horrible. hopefully after a good-night's rest i'll feel better.

Antonio 06-07-2009 09:59 PM

oh some good news, my band has two shows lined up now, i'll put them in my original post

Stone Birds 06-09-2009 04:51 PM

Tomorrow i'm going to play at the same place i've been playing for about a month.
(i need to find more venues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Antonio 06-09-2009 05:26 PM

do you ask around?

Stone Birds 06-10-2009 06:38 AM

i live in weeping water this place is the only venue that doesn't only let cover bands play (there's a lot of crappy cover band that play in my town usually not worth listening to and then when someone comes up with original music they don't like it)
Weeping water has actually produced many good musicians but only the school and lighthouse would let them play (Unless they went to Omaha or Lincoln)
These are two i personally know:

Down With the Ship on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
