I'll make my case short:

I'm awesome.

The Unfan 06-03-2009 08:34 PM

I think I represent a small demographic none of the other candidates do; and a variety of tastes and opinions on the panel would help represent MB as a whole. I think I deserve the vote to help balance and diversify the panel.

I think I've contributed a lot to the site musically in the past (not much lately but I plan to start pumping way more time into the music section because I've gotten over my apathy towards music phase that lasted for a few months) and I feel my influence on many users taste here has been pretty substantial and a lot of people (even jackhammer!) like my recommendations.

I am willing to accept a spot on the panel if selected and feel I will be able to give an objective opinion.

There are many more members not nominated that could do a better job then me but I feel like I can be very helpful in getting this project off the ground as a member of the panel.

I'm not as awesome as Comus.

Okay people have had enough time to make their case.

Lets move on to the ideas portion.

We need topics to debate on. If you are not a member of the panel (non-nominees for this round) here is your task:

Select an A\B or yes\no Topic (The Rolling Stones vs. The Beatles, Elvis Presley is the King of Rock) and pick the side you want to argue for. Someone else will take the opposing side, you each have a couple of days (2-3) to make your arguments, points and counterpoints then the panel will rule.

The best idea each session will be selected and ruled upon by the elected panel.

Guessing this one is dead but just in case the 30 people who voted did so with some purpose:

I'll throw it out there one more time, how about some ideas for a debate topic. I'll suggest a few to give an idea.

I'll list all of the suggested arguments here and which non-panel member will argue each side.

Sampling songs hurts the sampling artists musical merits and credibility.

and one person non-panel member would sign up to argue for each side...

We need a new thread, if people have already seen the result, they won't really be compelled to look into the thread again.
