Do you still have to live in the U.S or the UK in order to succed in these markets?

I know some successful examples, but mainly in the electronic music genre, not that much in Rock....specially the type of rock I make, mixing up with Brazilian and Classical Music...
I wonder if I should live abroad for my career, even though I really like my city ...what do you think?

I'm not entirely sure if you are just spamming but my answer is no.
Internet access and talent are all you need to become a successful musician. The more talent you have the more people will notice your YouTube videos, Myspace, Purevolume, etc. CD Baby is a great way to sell music via the internet as well.

Play shows in your native country while building a fanbase in the U.S or U.K and if you have the time, money and determination you can play a few shows in one of those countries.

Of course with the type of music you've described it might be harder to build a fanbase in the U.S.

No I'm not....this is a serious question, but thanks for the feedback my friend...
I've already made a whole album and started promoting it, but now it's time to perform so I'm trying to decide If I leave my country and form my live project abroad or simply stay here, where the market is not exactly the one I belong to, since I sing in English, and here in Brazil this is not, let's say, very well seen (specially in terms of media) , unlike places like Sweden or Germany for example where it's perfectly normal for a local band to sing in english....I also compose in portuguese...but most of my current songs are in English...that's my dilema...

I'd say spend some time building a fanbase and then if you think your ready go for it. Another place you can probably sell your music pretty good is on Stock Music Sites, Audiosparx, StockMusicSite and Audiomicro to name a few.. it won't build you fans but it's a great way to make some extra cash. Thats all I can tell you, hope it helps

I think the answer is yes. Because there are so many fantastic Australian bands who are barely heard of overseas and thus haven't made it big because the Australian market alone is not enough. The Aussie bands who have made it big are the ones who went to live in the US/UK.

Whatever works for you... But if you really think about it world music has had a massive impact on the UK and US market over many years, and many bands often relocate over there but not always...

That is very true, I've really found myself getting into a lot of the Aussie hip hop, most of which I'd probably never have found without the help of others.
