It was all over the place and not in a good way for me. The album I've heard was more cohesive than this one track. Again, after just one listen to the track that is.
They're a prog band, what did you expect?

Remind me never to recommend you a Mr. Bungle album.

I love Mr. Bungle. I also listen to a lot of prog.

This thing just didn't seem cohesive at all, just complete patchwork. I may listen to the comp again tonight, maybe I'll come out thinking something different.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I just finished listening to the Beardfish song again. This is what I heard:

Frank Zappa (lots of it)
Everlast (yeah that guy from House of Pain. Just a touch of this)
Clutch
cheesy American blues rock
country/western
Queen
Motley Crue

It's just a mess.

Sorry Anteater.

This months comp has been suspiciously quiet Re:guesses. No Comply- Alfred? I liked the Sebkha track but it was far too short. It sounded like a Bulldog track but he was guessed easily so maybe Anticipation as he has a penchant for quality African music.

List of contributors please?

1. Beardfish - South of the Border
Loved it. Such a fun yet complex tune. Kinda like Supergrass (though much less commercially-viable of course).

2. Violens - Spectator and Pupil
Decent little rocker this with a good riff. I wouldn't call it anything truly spectacular though. The vocals grate a teeny bit too.

3. Klaxons - Golden Skans
Not a huge fan of the Klaxons (I remember seeing them on Jools Holland once and they were bloody terrible), but this is a good song.

4. Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint - Six-Fingered Man
Another one from the genius who submitted the Los Lobos song last month

5. Teenage Fanclub - Star Sign
Really didn't do anything for me. Sorry.

6. Willie Nelson - Night Life (Live)
Great, fun little country rocker here. Reminds me that I should get some Willie Nelson at some point too. Good call FC.

7. John Kamman - 40 Acres
One more of my favourites from this month's comp. Smooth vocals + great work on the guitar = top stuff.

8. Superchunk - You Can Always Count On Me (In the Worst Way)
Another one which, no offense to whoever submitted it, I really didn't like much at all.

9. Sebka-Chott - La complainte d'Yvette H.
I enjoyed this one a lot though. Great guitar and synth motifs going through it. I reckon I'll be on the lookout for this lot in future.

10. No Comply - Silencio
Great, minimalist punk rock here. The horns fit it like a glove too.

11. The Ecstacy of Saint Theresa - Watching Black White Looking
With the exception of my song, this was the highlight of this month's comp Reminds me of a lot of the down-tempo/IDM stuff I've been listening to for the last few weeks and this is probably something else I should see about hearing more of.

Some guesses...

Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa - seems like something Sidewinder would pick
John Kamman - says Stone Birds to me
Klaxons - I'm gonna have a stab in the dark and guess this is your one, PMO

Yep, you got me, finally.

yeah most people should know i listen to folk and bluegrass music (as long as there isn't crapy vocals too it, so most bluegrass is out.)

also, if you really liked that you can download over 30 of his songs for free here: John Kamman (he chose to have it that way)
