I saw Alexisonfire at the annual 'Soundwave Festival' (I'm pretty sure its just an Australian festival?) in 2008 and saw Maylene and the Sons of Disaster at the same festival in 2009 (earlier this year.) Seeing as I was going to the festival to see other bands I probably wouldn't have gone to see Alexisonfire or MATSOD by my own choice but in the end I'm glad I did because they were both pretty awesome! So yeah as I'm not that familiar with either band I can't really comment in depth except to say that they were entertaining. Alexisonfire had a huge crowd and it was bloody insane (I almost died) and MATSOD had a tiny, tiny stage and small crowd which was a little disappointing but also good because I was in the front row! Both worthy to check out live, though.

I'm impressed by all the people even remembering who they're seen live, I can't.
I have seen 2 or 3 a year since 1979, the most entertaining was Kiss.

It's a him and her, a duo hence the "y" Spanish for "&"

But I would love to see them live, I heard they do a ton of Metallica covers and their new album 11:11 is one of the best albums this year hands down.

Yeah I haven't listened to them at all yet. I hadn't even heard of them until the night before last when my friend asked me to download 11:11 for him. But now that I have the album I have no excuse not to investigate. My friend said the self titled is his favorite, would that be a better starting place?

Either or, doesn't really matter, instrumental flamenco is awesome no matter what way you slice it. Their self-titled album has an awesome rendition of "Orion" by Metallica and "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin.
