^ I don't think anyone that dislikes Bono will ever be convinced to do otherwise

Now that's annoying !

That was from the 90s.

I'm gonna have to recant my original claim of James Hetfield, and replace him with the lead singer of Kings Of Leon.

When he sings, I picture a wet, dying cat.
That's in heat.

Arya Stark 09-23-2009 09:42 PM

Anybody want to mention Pete Wentz? xD

There were these girls in my school who had a Pete Wentz club.

A handshake and everything.

No bait. I just really hate Cedric's views on concert going, his pretentious, and his voice.

Axl was by far the most talented member of GNR as far as actual song writing goes.

KRS-One.

He's the type of guy who seems like he would go to a house party and spend like three hours discussing Reaganomics or AIDS prevention techniques in Ghana. Being an educated black man isn't a license to wave your intellect in peoples faces. We get it, you were in Boogie Down Productions, but without Scott La Rock you only made one decent album (which was By All Means Necessary), so cool it.

LOL...
As much as I can listen to KRS, I have to agree with you.

david byrne-I definitely got a hate on. He's like those monty python dorks in high school--weirdness for weirdness sake is annoying as hell.

~LK~ 09-24-2009 03:28 AM

Most annoying person in music? Oh this is too easy. Lil Wayne or Lady Gaga. I only like pre-Carter III Lil Wayne. You know, before he started whoring himself out on the mainstream radio. As for Lady Gaga, I just can't stand that annoying lady.

The Monkey 09-24-2009 03:30 AM

All of the mainstream pop and contemporary R&B singers. Manufactured, shallow, liveless products spat out by the industry to appease the ignorant masses who will swallow any **** that it being given to them on the radio and on MTV.

Explain yourself. Sure he's a bit cranky in his later years, but he was amazing with The Dead Kennedys.

GOD DAMNED LIBERALS RUINING AMERICA!

I don't understand the Lady Gaga hate. I find her over-the-topness to be slightly funny and her music isn't really that bad.

I really don't mind Lady Gaga, I actually don't hear about her all that much. Then again I don't watch MTV or listen to the radio and thankfully not many people in my school like her.

Still I'm sticking with Fred Durst and his totally awesome customized fitted hats he wears.

Scarlett Johansson, go ****ing write your own songs... the only good thing you are doing is giving Tom Waits some good exposure to stupid teens. Well, that is if teens actually realise or care that Tom Waits had written pretty much every song on "Anywhere I Lay My Head". God, I ****ing hate most people my age.

Zer0 09-24-2009 03:47 PM

Scarlett Johansson has a music career? How did i miss this hilarious event? :)

SATCHMO 09-24-2009 03:55 PM

Has there ever been a famous actor/actress who has subsequently gone on to record a decent album? I can't think of one.

I discovered recently that Jena Malone (Donnie Darko, Stepmom) records music, and it sounds kinda cool actually. Here's her myspace Jena Malone and her bloodstains on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

Zooey's album was ok. Nothing great, but not the really horrible stuff actors and actresses usually make.

hype aside, he's a pretty talented bassist.

The Abominable Homan 09-24-2009 06:30 PM

Regardless of musical talent or lack thereof, I did read an article once where Wentz apparently said he was jealous of homosexuals because they have to fight people off or something along those lines, pretty much trivializing homosexuality to just something done for attention. I'm not *** personally, but that sort of statement is just idiotic. So I'd say he's pretty annoying.

EDIT: Oh, I've been gone for a while... did it always censor that? I wasn't aware of it.

She does have a decent voice, though. And as far as I know she gave Tom full recognition. No Tom Waits cover can ever be better than the original, of course, but I see nothing wrong a tribute album.

Maybe not famous, but Jenny Lewis has put out some good stuff...

Most annoying though, I'd have to go with Kanye West as of late. Madonna's getting a bit annoying now too, as a person.

Musically I'll stick with my previous response of most/all country twangers. I want to pull my hair out of my scalp when I hear that sh*t.

kouki 09-26-2009 01:39 PM

Kanye & taylor swift.

I couldn't find a video for one of their songs where the bass really impresses me, but this should do.

Antonio 09-26-2009 05:35 PM

.........and you call this "pretty talented"?

FaSho 09-26-2009 06:49 PM

Well he's certainly no Les Claypool or that guy from Metallica, but considering most bands to come out of that genre just use pre-recorded basslines, he at least has more talent then he's given credit for.

Erin<3 09-26-2009 06:57 PM

Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and T-Pain.
Their voices annoy me so much.

SceneSalsa 09-26-2009 07:35 PM

I've got the biggest hateon for Katy Perry. I tend to try to go by the live and let live motto, but she makes me blind with rage.

pre recorded? can you name some bands that do that? cause i've seen a number of bands in the genre that i KNOW don't do that.

also, i'm not comparing him to any monumentally skilled bassist, i'd consider someone pretty talented if they brought something new to the table in a group or did something with their own style or flair. he's just filling in the spot, he's not really doing any "basslines", it's just connect the dots to the root note playing that anyone with a few days of practice AT THE MOST could do. and it's not like he's even trying to do his own thing with what he has either, it's pretty much the generic style of the genre. not saying he's awful though. put it this way: he's not terrible or great, he's just DOING HIS JOB.

gahhh i wish mr dave was in this thread, he'd explain it alot better.

SceneSalsa 09-27-2009 11:53 AM

I don't have a problem with Pete Wentz, but he's not a talented bassist. He himself has admitted to this, more than once.
