Rock RPG -- Text Based -- HELP!!!

Okay. So I want to start a music rpg on this site. What you do is you write your guy/girl`s name, age, instrument, and proferable genre. You can join other people`s bands. Then... I have no idea... have fun!

Um,...what?

Antonio 10-17-2009 08:25 PM

ag ag ag!

That's a pretty strange idea, especially for someone who just joined. I don't think it's well summed up by two/three short sentences either. ;)

Admit it, Tore, you wanna be in mah band.

early nomination for worst thread of the millennium.

Well, my character is gonna be the shiz or whatever you call it with the flute.

This thread reminds me a bit of the old-school classic game "Rock Star Ate My Hamster".

You had to manage a band .. it was fun.

Am I the only one who thinks this idea could actually go somewhere?

the only problem is that for any game to be an actual enjoyable 'game' there has to be some sort of challenge or obstacle that can be overcome by the player(s), which is what creates the sensation of winning / the illusion of progression depending on the style of game.

how do you establish that for a rock rpg without basically lifting the tour mode from the rockband videogames?

what challenges do you throw to the player to make it an actual game as opposed to just playing pretend rockband minus the actual game of playing the songs?
