Headphone recommendation?

I'm looking for a pair of earbud-style headphones (but not the ear canal kind) that are at least somewhat robust.

It seems like a reasonable thing to ask, but every pair I have ever owned to date have fallen apart within months of use.

Any suggestions?

I bought a pair of Sony ones for ~$10 about a year ago and I've been using them ever since. Incredibly durable and great quality for the price, you can find them pretty much anywhere (Walmart, Best Buy, etc).

earbud headphones are pretty ****

i have sony mdr-dx100's myself and they are good, but apparently you can find some cheap sennheiser models that are cheaper with better sound

How about PX200, I like it.

I like cans but they aren't really appropriate for walking around or exercising.
and gotjuice I don't know how you do. It just seems like they're all cheap fragile plastic and rubber.

I know what you mean about the cheap plastic but these are actually pretty nice. And obviously I don't treat them like complete ****, but they do get a lot of wear and use and so far have held up nicely. I would say I've definitely been lucky though, unless you're willing to spend at least $20-30 on a pair of earbuds you should probably expect to have to replace them within a year at best. Just how it is today like you said, the quality's not there if you don't want to spend the money.

If you're doing a lot of exercising you might try a pair of over the ear ones, I've never been able to stand them but I'd probably have to force myself to get used to them if I did a lot of running.

i paid about $50 for some Sennheisers a few months ago and i've been pretty happy with them. they even survived my cat, whose nasty sharp pointy teeth made some pretty major holes in the housings. luckily he missed all the important bits :)
