I remember when I was pretty little, watching a movie on TV with my dad. Have no idea what the name of it was, but it basically took place in the near future, and by that time society had decided that they wanted everyone to be average and mediocre in all walks of life instead of actually excelling at anything.
In the movie getting a C on a test was complimented and getting an A was scolded, and also the music was just all incredibly boring generic sounding pop...and that's all there was, you couldn't get anything else. Was horrifying. :yikes:

In the end the main character is a super-genius and manages to turn society around almost single-handedly. One of the scenes I remember most is when he manages to take over a TV station and play a really soulful jazz video with an amazing sounding sax on it. The camera shows people around the world watching this and their jaws just dropping. Was really epic. :D

god I wish I could remember the name of that movie. I'd really like to see it again now ><

I saw a movie kinda similar to that but it took place in the 18th Century - it was called Amadeus.

Well, judging by the general trend one observes:
100 years from now music studios will feature a single microphone, and a toilet. Popular artists will have refined their ability to make excellent specimens of shit and the sound of them making said shit will be recorded and polished by the studio engineers, and sold all over the world.

The kids at home will practice in their bathrooms to achieve such a monumental and emotional sounding defecation, and these will be the future generation of the sound. A sound once referred to by the younger, hope-filled generations as: The shit.

All music will be the digitally processed sounds of unicorns fellating the cryogenically preserved penises of Elvis and Michael Jackson. I'm willing to put money on this one.
