I can't stand the vocals, it sounds like a really bad Geddy Lee, and I actually don't mind his vocal style, but I just don't like it here. I've always found bass heavy post-punk works better with deeper voices and the juxtaposition between the melody and vocals is so jarring that I just can't get into the music.
That's exactly the impression I got from the handful of songs I listened to from the album. I'm not using that as a way of saying that it's a bad album, but the similarity is uncanny and for my tastes just doesn't work.

Was never able to get into Siouxise Sioux for the same reason, so it's just something that doesn't click with me.

Like I said, it's not a bad album, I'm just not digging it, which is a shame because it's one of the few albums whose description alone made me interested enough to try it out.

Hmm, I Getty Lee didn't come to mind for me but I also didn't care for the vocals.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Alt J - An Awesome Wave. I listened to it twice just to make sure my feelings after the first listen were real, they were, its garbage.

I love that album, and yes even the vocals I enjoy very much.

I go back and forth on it. Some days I feel it, and others it annoys the **** out of me.

Currently trying to groove into Pink Floyd but it may just be outside of my era. I'm still trying though.

Excuse my newbiness, or plebbiness, but I really can't get into Ys for some reason. The weird thing is, I had no problem listening to Have One On Me.

Why'd you try 5 times to enjoy it?
