				 | Role models in music?

Hey, wondered if any of you guys wanted to 'express your views' about this... "Does the representations of men and women in popular music affect the extent to which they can be effective role models within youth culture" |

Yeah, I believe they do. Just look at the rap/r&b influence on the youth culture. Same with people like Britney Spears. Because of her (and others), I've seen girls as young as 6 and 7, walking around in tube tops and gaudy lipstick singing songs like "Toxic". I really dont think it could be more evident that the way musicians portray themselves has an affect on people. hehe, hope that answers the question ^_^;; |
