I just noticed what I really wanted to say:

Musicians who are on drugs are not necessarily better, but great musicians tend to be better on drugs.

Maybe, but at least it had the hits No Surprize and Remember (walking in the Sand) on it. What did Nine Lives, or even worse, Honk On Bobo have that was as good?

Answering that question would involve listening to those albums.

You're gonna have a long wait.

There are enough clean musicians for me to not to prefer drug addicts:

half of the ramones
fugazi
shellac

On the other hand there is also a lot of terrible music probably inspired by coke-the eagles, duran duran, robert palmer, etc.

...actually there is enough musicians that prove and disprove that drugs=genius, that it's pretty irrelevant. I still wish Aerosmith was on drugs though.

It depends.

A sober Chris Cornell is a saddening Chris Cornell.
But a band like Between the Buried and Me makes a good case for healthy living, even if half of them do drink.

I think drugs work for some people and not for others. Some are able to use them to unleash their emotions and stuff in their music. But others just have their mind clouded. I do think that they can be a fantastic tool though.
