Nothing wrong with music owning you, nothing wrong whatsoever.

I have 200ish vinyl records, close to 3,000 CDs, about 20 DVD-Music (24 bit), and on my hard drive/external I have close to a terabit of music ranging from classical to modern. Mind you, I rarely keep MP3 unless I convert it from my flac files to put on my MP3 player. Otherwise, all flac files. I'm very keen on high-quality music. I actually have 2 500 gig Externals just for the music and another 750 gig external for other things (movies, applications, etc.).

On my iTunes it's a mere 2.5 gigs or something like that. I've got about 500 more albums on CD only though

I only started expanding my collection recently so I'm around 7 gigs, probably on average adding another album or two every day.
