I don't know who Kings of Leon is.

But I believe Rob has had a boyfriend before, but don't take that as written in stone.

HAHAHA!

I find it hilarious that a lot of people *weren't* aware that he was gay back in the day. I mean, check him out with Darth Vader here!

I remember seeing video of him in concert at Montreal. Was actually pretty cool, was wearing only a thong and a Canadiens hat.

I think it's fairly obvious it's Stefan on the left.

Wasn't gay, and I doubt he was even bisexual. He's admitted he was more into the culture than actually homosexual or bisexual.

He used his gay announcement to further his career than later went back on it, saying it was the biggest mistake he ever made.

He's been married twice and has two kids.

There is that rumour about him and Mick Jagger but Angie Bowie is a proper bitter bastard. The only other thing I've seen is from Lindsey Kemp in a documentary about Ziggy Stardust and he said Bowie was gay and went into a bit of graphic detail regarding their relationship but who knows.

I think Bowie played up to a bit tbh.

If there's anything to it it's likely a phase he had in his youth.

Anyway, I love the fact that no one Has Mentioned Douglas P. of Death In June yet. His sexual orientation alienates white nationalists, and his fascist imaginary alienates more left-winged types, it's perfect!

Surely it makes no difference what sexual orientation a musician is? I know that was not the intent of the OP, to pigeonhole and single out LBGT people in the music world, but I feel this is what has inadvertently happened. Everyone is now posting videos of gay/lesbian musicians and the underlying, if not intentional, sentiment is: they're not so bad. Even though they're gay they can make decent music?

I just think segregating people into these sort of groups is intrinsically bad. Why not just ignore a person's sexual orientation/preference and concentrate on the music they make? Who cares if musician X is gay, lesbian, trans or alien, as long as they make decent music?

Is what I think...

Rjinn 12-01-2013 05:21 AM

I'm not taking a righteous stand or anything but I don't understand the relevance of this topic. Music was never for the straight people in the first place and gay musicians don't necessarily make music so you can understand their gayness.

I think you're wrong. I read the whole thing and didn't notice one instance of what you mentioned in the part I bolded. Pretty much the only poster who made fun of/belittled homosexuality is Vanilla

Does it really matter? Gay, straight, Bi, yellow or whatever. It's all about the spirit of soulful music of many great musicians, artist, bands, singers, etc. The art of talented individuals. Not based on their sexuality, race, religion, etc.

Of course those things don't effect the quality of music.

HOWEVER, this thread is a discussion of homosexual musicians. What's wrong with that? It's a relatively interesting topic.

Please: If you actually hold the Self Evident Truth that all people are Created Equal, then you are as blind and twisted as America's founders. This thread isn't about that. It's about homosexual bands/musicians, like the title says.
