i think we've established the fact that Meg lacks technical ability with the sticks, but thats the beauty of the stripes.

I want this album to be bluesy, in the vein of their first two albums, yet with a production similiar to that of elephant and GBMS

I'm not implying that anyone credits her with being a great drummer, but there are plenty of ways for her to expound on what she does and still keep it groovy and bluesy.

It just seems (in the songs I've heard) she plays simplicity for the sake of simplicity, and not because 'less is more'.

i think she generally plays the way she does because Jack White has said her overly-simple beats gives him the creative freedom to do his thing. Its refreshing for him.

Fair enough I guess. It's probably the reason I can't get into them at all though.

Im hoping for something sweet and rootsy like "You've Got to Keep Her In Your Pocket" fromElephant. I don't think theyve plowed that furrow as much as they possibly should have.

Whatever Jack wants to do is fine with me though.

Give me more along the lines of Elephant and I'll be happy.

I'll never understand the hype for this band. They're doing what thousands if not millions of bands did before them, just worse.

Why even click the link if what you have to say is that ridiculous? Are you trying to sway opinion? Do you want us all to never speak about the white stripes again? Either you completly miss what the stripes are doing or you're over using hyperbole which is a tough thing to do given the nature of the device.

They stripes don't want any shmuck fan to be in love with them, you're supposed to like the music, and they do everything else in their power to get rid of people who are looking for image over substance...so far, so good.
