This guy is cool

His music is intelligent, I'm not even talking about Doo-Wops & Hooligans

which is a quite normal album with nothing special but the vocals.

But his second one? Unorthodox Jukebox?

You guys should take a listen, the guy reminded me of these fellas:

Prince first of all, Michael Jackson, Sam Cooke, The Police, Daft Punk...etc

I digged the production and i think it's far better than his first album..

Just listen to this song "Gorilla", with the risqué lyrics, strong vocals, EPIC falsetto at the end,, it's a song that Prince would like to cover...

Not to mention the "Locked Out of Heaven" hit which is everybody's jam.. "When I Was Your Man", i didn't like Show Me and Young Girls, they sounded too cheesy for me anyway, but Moonshine, Gorilla, Treasure, LOOH, WIYWM, If I Knew and Natalie, those are the ****.. (Noticing that he managed to put different sounds on his work, Mixing reggae with funk, R&B with rock, New Wave/reggae rock bass with Pop choruses... i think he's doing just fine with this album).. and finally RIP Bernie his mother, she died two days ago and i think he's not promoting anymore because of the condition.. So whatchu guys think about this fella?

He's all right... a bit too much of a crooner IMO. Some male singers do it right and others do not.
If he can make you laugh a little bit while singing he's doing it right.

There's something sickening/depressing about Bruno Mars songs I don't like.

I heard "It Will Rain" on the radio the other day and was really smitten by the beauty of it. I'd heard it before, and I always dismissed it as generic pop, but something in the melody caught my attention and I honed in on it. I got home, grabbed my guitar and came up with an instrumental version of it. The song itself is not very intricate, but the lines flow quite elegantly. A very hauntingly beautiful piece.

Yea I agree!

He is definitly an "artist" and not a corporate puppet. I actually really dig his latest album and I can see alot of artistic growth. He is GREAT GREAT GREAT live. He is a good live singer as well and I love his old school flare. I see great things for him in the future and I just see him growing and growing and growing more as an artist.

What do you have against corporate puppets? they need to eat as well. Are they not deserving of being able to feed themselves and pay for shelter?

I checked out the Jukebox album and I loved it but even more so I got these EPs with some remixes on them and OMFG. I think I love those more than the actual album but he's a-class material. I never gave him a fair shake in the past but I will definitely look forward to his new material

anyway i prob already said in this thread but bruno is awesome. hes real talented and blends present day style with some older sounding stuff too. love his work. not a gimmick, just really talented
