The RIAA's lost profit claims are labeled silly by judge, and the judge also denies the RIAA the ability to subpoena ISPs for subscriber info. Let the downloads commence. Some good news for you downloaders :) |
It has always been illegal for ISPs to be given a subpoena. I think this is a great thing, because it allows them to protect the privacy rights of their customers. However, they shouldn't completely turn the other way when people are doing illegal transfers through their ISP. As far as the judge throwing out the RIAA's lost profit claim, that's very interesting. What's the link to the website?
