Recording of Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

I was just wondering of any could tell me about the recording of Red Hot Chili Peppers recording of Blood Sugar Sex Magik. I know that they set up a studio in Rick Rubins masion, but somebody recently told me that they recorded some tracks in the surrounding woods. Is this true? I don't know much about recording music but I didn't think it was possible to record sounds of that quality outdoors. I'd appreciate it if anybody could clear this up for me. Cheers.

Sounds like you should check out the film Funky Monks.

they rented a mansion in the Hollywood hills, not Rubin's, rumors are that it was also used by Charles Manson or at least some of his cultists.

as for outdoor recordings, i've never heard that rumour, though it's quite possible, there is THAT bit right at the end of Sir Psycho Sexy after all (last 10 seconds). but it's not like they sat around a campfire to bust out the master tracks to Breaking the Girl or Under the Bridge.

also, a tv show about Keidis' past... :banghead:

Why does the TV show idea automatically mean :banghead: ?

I think it might have been cool in the early/mid 90s, sort of, because I liked them and him, but now? Nahhhhhh but thanks.

when's the last time you saw a celebrity based show that wasn't :banghead:?

It wouldn't be a reality show. It would have writers and just be loosely based on his life story...
