last.fm is a great social networking tool...reverbnation is also a marvelous tool for musicians, maybe not so much social networking, but for researching other bands and venues to gig up with its amazing. and you can even sell some merch too lol. facebook is still my favorite though. its where everybody is at...and everybody loves music, just not the same genre.
