^ Yes, that gives a whole new dimension to Dylan's song. In fact with her seductive voice, and just the fact that she's a woman, she turns the whole thing upside down, replacing Bob's cynicism with a sincere confessional touch. Nice.

I'd also suggest that any Dylan cover is better than the original.
If I were to concede that there was any validity to music_collector's point, I might choose this version of You Angel You - not a stunning song, but an improvement on the original imo:-

Yeah, I have to admit this isn't one of the Beatles' better songs. Yes does a good version of it though.
That's the beauty of covers, I find. I have heard covers reinvent a song to my ears. There's no awards for that but there ought to be.

On the subject of Beatles covers, one of my favorites is Spooky Tooth's cover of I Am the Walrus. Such a creative reimagining while keeping true to the psychedelic atmosphere.

That freakin rocked! Loved the slow greasy vibe that just keeps building. Great cover for sure.
Not better, just a cool cover imo.

I love Hawkwind and I love the original version of "Silver Machine", but I think the Alien Sex Fiend version is even better:
