Tiny Mix Tapes
 

We have a pitchfork thread but sadly no Tiny Mix Tapes. It's an online music review site like Pitchfork but it covers more experimental music and lacks the annoying fan base and indie bias. Its end of year lists are sometimes a breath of fresh air and their reviews have introduced me to a lot of new stuff. Anyone else use this site?


Some music I've discovered via Tiny Mix Tapes....

I stumbled upon their 'best albums of the 00's' list a while back. Their reviews for said list are fantastic, well from the ones I read anyhow. The Sung Tongs review there is something I secretly wish I had written, and the fact that they had it at #2 just makes my fanboyism peak to incomprehensibly high measures... Haven't checked anything else they've put up recently, though.

TMT made Zs album New Slaves the album of the year in 2010. That makes me incredibly happy. I also discovered Little Women from them. I LOVE YOU TMT!

I used to love this site, and discovered a good many bands through it. I don't read it much these days but I'm sure it's still good. Their end of year lists are worth a look for sure, I'll check out this year's.
