Bands That Implode

I prefer when bands call it quits while still in their prime over bands that dont know when to end.

Hmm... I think there's quite some bands that screwed up badly in the eighties and made a great comeback in the half/late 90's. So I'm not sure ifI agree with you.

Imploded... Coldplay, Counting Crows, Black Mountain, Belle & Sebastian

Paedantic Basterd 12-30-2010 06:12 PM

Er. Coldplay and Belle & Sebastian are still bands.

s_k 12-30-2010 06:19 PM

I thought imploding meant that they kept on going after they reached their peak :)

khfreek 12-30-2010 06:35 PM

No, implode means a band breaks up/stops at the peak of their creativity. The Beatles are an ok example of this.

I think Refused is the ultimate example though, which is why there was a documentary made solely about the break-up and final tour.

Ah, in that case, Nick Drake.
Not voluntarily, obviously.

Dayvan Cowboy 12-30-2010 06:39 PM

in that case.....

What is it?

Even though they are kind of reforming for tours, System of a Down were literally topping the charts when they broke up.

The experimental rock band Battles. The guy who's crossed out's name is Tyondai Braxton and he left the band for some reason. Back when my name was boardsofcanada, they were my favourite band. I was devastated.

EDIT: damn you pedestrian!

Type Quicker!

Eitherway, had a listen. Thought it was brilliant musically, but it's not something I'd ever play here. Still I see why this would be a big loss to the world of music.

By the way; You have 1024 postings. How mega is that? ;D.

khfreek 12-30-2010 07:08 PM

Oh you used to have a different name... that makes a lot more sense.
