Default Random Dutch bands

Good Morning .

The Dutch aren't very well known for their music.
And I have to admit, most of the music that comes from this country is utter crap.
I tried to make a little list of some dutch bands that have some popularity here that aren't completely crap.
Feel free to disagree .

The Golden Earring - All Day Watcher (from the sixties)

Cuby and the Blizzards - Somebody will know someday (From the sixties)

The Nits - Nescio (eighties)

The Upsessions - Dorothee Blackswan (Frrresh last year harvest)

Brainbox - Between alpha and Omega (seventies)

Brainbox - Dark Rose (sixties)

Rowwen Hèze - Limburg (nineties, this band actually sings in a Dutch dialect bot somehow they manage be very popular)

Claw Boys Claw - Rosie (nineties)

Focus - Hocus Pocus (very much seventies and absolutely brilliant)

Focus - House of the King (Seventies)

Alquin - Soft Eyed Woman (Seventies)

De Heideroosjes - Iedereen is gek (nineties, the Netherlands most famous punk band)

Flairck - Variaties op een Dame (Seventies, song gets going at 2:44. Strange stuff, even for the Dutch)

Ekseption - Peace Planet (Seventies)

Sound of Zzz - OFG (2005)

Sungrazer - If (2009, this band has it's origin in the nearby city of Sittard)
They've only made a demo so far but I must say it sounds pretty promising

Hey, there's a lot of good stuff that comes from the Netherlands! Bong-Ra, The Ex, Solex, and Mühr come to mind.

I've heard of bong ra. And that's it.
I'll have to listen to that soon.
We do have a Solex moped though

Solex (the musician, not the moped) is fantastic. I'd actually say she's been somewhat influential on my own music. She totally strikes me as your kind of person since she owns a vintage record shop and makes music by sampling obscure old vinyl. Here's a little sample of what she sounds like:

It's really not my kind of thing I must say. But I'm glad there's more good music coming from this country than I knew of

Holland isn't that obscure music-wise. Of course, I tend to Focus on the Ekseption here.

What about Urban Dance Squad? I always thought these guys were kind of ahead of their time.
