Yes, sorry! I realised after posting that I was stretching the topic rather, but I`ve loved that tex-mex sound since I first heard it on Cooder`s Chicken Skin Music. Nice clip, BTW - never heard of those guys before.

Nice! Molotov is one those bands I've always meant to check out but have never gotten around to. I'll definitely have to give them a listen now.
I could could write exactly the same thing about Cafe Tacuba, Janszoon! Tropico de Cancer is such a great track that I`ve got some investigating to do

With the exception of their self-titled debut, all their albums are really good. Musically they're all over the map though so don't expect all their stuff to sound like Tropico de Cancer.

Thanks for the tip !
Likewise, Molotov don`t do many rootsy-sounding numbers. They quite often focus on being offensive, though.

Ritchie Valens ~ La Bamba

Santana ~ Oye Como Va

Los Lobos ~ La Pistola y El Corazon

Yeah, I was surprised by what that song sounded like. I had always been under the impression that Molotov were a punk band.

Either I'm going blind in my old age or no-one's embedded a Robi Draco Rosa video yet. Either way;

^ He's singing in English there, as he tends to do with his more accessible stuff. Most of his stuff that I've heard has Spanish lyrics to it though, like below;

Whatever the case, Puerto Rico's Robi Draco Rosa here brings a much grungier, dirtier slant on Latin rock, at least what I know of it. Highly recommended.

Then there's Caifanes from Mexico, who are a kind of Latin indie pop and another favourite of mine;

And I can dig a bit of Venezeulan disco-pop from Los AAmigos Invisibles here on the odd Saturday night too;

It's all much more anglicized than the thread probably allows, but it's stuff from the region I can dig all the same.

damn I didn't know it was Latin Week...it still says bluegrass week for some odd reason

Lemme up in here

My favorite Salsa songs

Frankie Ruiz - Mirandote

Giro Lopez - El Pasajero

Grupo Niche - Lo bonito y lo feo

I also like Reggaeton but I'll only put up two of my faves here.

Wisin & Yandel - Abusadora

Don Omar - Virtual Diva
iDon was released in 09 but I love that album so much it still gets replay in my stereo.

I wasn't talking about what you posted; I was talking about what I posted. No worries.
